Most Common Devices in Industrial Plants
The most common limit switch or visual position indicator found in
process plants meet one of two basic specifications. Either the device
will operate in a general purpose environment where the chief concern is
the environmental conditions of the installation. Or as the second
application commonly known as is Hazardous Areas where potentially
explosive gases and dusts are typically present in normal plant
operations.
Environmental Concerns
- General Purpose Type 4, 4x (IP 65/67)
- Standard on-off indicator in black/yellow or red/green patterns
- Two mechanical SPDT switches, one for each end of travel
- Aluminum Enclosure
- Direct shaft to actuator mounting (for NAMUR ¼ turn actuators)
- Mounted indoors or outdoors
- Standard on-off indicator in black/yellow or red/green patterns
- Explosion-Proof Type 4, 4x, 7, 9 (Hazardous Areas – North America)
- Standard on-off indicator in black/yellow or red/green patterns
- Two mechanical SPDT switches, one for each end of travel
- Aluminum Enclosure
- Direct shaft to actuator mounting (for NAMUR ¼ turn actuators)

Suitability
Moniteur’s line of limit switches are a quality products that are
interchangeable with virtually all of the products found in the market.
The products represent a substantial upgrade in terms of general
reliability and product longevity from other lines. This is particularly
true in harsh environments.
